Upgrading Hospital Water Storage with Minimal Disruption
University Hospital Crosshouse, built in 1978, is a large district general hospital in Kilmarnock, Scotland. It has 645 beds and provides maternity services for NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The dedicated maternity unit includes an additional 51 beds, a neonatal intensive care unit, and pediatric services.
The hospital needed Nicholson Plastics, part of Tricel, to remove its existing water tanks and install new HPM Sectional Tanks. These filtered water tanks had to comply with SHTM regulations, a crucial requirement for hospitals. Additionally, the project had to be completed without disrupting the water supply.
