Our Client contacted The Team in July of 2017 requiring an emergency site visit to access their burst water tank in the leisure complex. The job required manufacturing & replacing an existing water storage tank that had serviced the building for potable and non-potable water. The maintenance team were able to secure temporary water services in order to keep the building operational, but a site visit was required as a matter of urgency due to limited water supply & significate damage to the property.

A speedy resolution was required due to the company working off of temporary water supply which kept the operations functional but was not allowing them to operate at full capacity.

GRP Water Storage Tank Solution

After conducting a site visit to access the situation our surveyor was able to advise the original water tank burst due to each side of the tank compartments servicing different parts of the building. Each compartment was emptying at different rates; therefore, the division walls integrity was comprised. Over time this weakened the division wall and caused the tank to burst.

The existing tank measured a 3.5 x 2 x 2 meters, we recommended a replacement sectional tank of 3.5 x 2 x 2 tank with a lengthways division and division outlets.

We recommended placing extra connections on both compartment sides of the divider so that the sides of the tank could service the full building without draining one side at a time which resulted in the integrity of the tank being compromised, resulting in the burst tank.

Specification of the tank included hot pressed GRP panels, internally flanged base with external flanged walls and standard insulation.

From our first enquiry from Live Active Ltd in mid-July we designed, manufactured, delivered and installed the tank to WRAS specification by the 14th of August.

THE FINAL RESULT

From our first enquiry from Live Active Ltd in mid-July we designed, manufactured, delivered and installed the tank to WRAS specification by the 14th of August.
