High Volume Water Tanks
With over 50 years of experience manufacturing and supplying sectional tanks, made to specific applications in GRP panel format and then site assembled. We have successfully installed Regulation 4(1)a Approved water tanks across the UK and internationally. The versatility of our large volume tanks makes them ideal for a wide range of applications:
Key Benefits of our Large Water Tanks
Tricel Tanks offer a range of advantages for various applications, from commercial, residential to industrial use. Here are some of the key benefits:
- Sufficient Water Storage Capacity – High volume water tanks provide significant storage capacity, ensuring a reliable water supply even during periods of high demand or in areas prone to water scarcity. This is particularly beneficial for agricultural, commercial, and industrial purposes where a consistent water supply is essential for operations.
- Water Conservation – By storing rainwater or harvested water in large tanks, users can reduce their reliance on the mains water supply, leading to significant water conservation. This not only helps preserve precious water resources but also contributes to sustainability efforts by reducing the strain on water treatment facilities.
- Emergency Preparedness – A vital component of emergency preparedness plans, especially in areas prone to natural disasters or disruptions in water supply. Having a sizable water tank ensures that households, businesses, manufacturing sites and communities can remain self-sufficient during emergencies such as breakout fires, providing peace of mind and enhancing resilience.
- Cost Savings – Investing in high volume water tanks can lead to long-term cost savings by reducing reliance on costly mains water supply or the need to pump water from wells or other sources constantly. Additionally, utilising rainwater harvesting systems with large tanks can result in reduced utility bills over time, making it a cost-effective solution for both residential and commercial users.
- Regulatory Compliance – In many regions, especially in areas with water restrictions or regulations concerning water usage, installing water tanks can help ensure compliance with local ordinances and guidelines. By having a reliable water storage system in place, users can avoid potential penalties or fines associated with excessive water consumption or non-compliance with water conservation measure
Uses of Large Water Tanks
Water tanks serve a variety of roles across different sectors due to their large capacity and versatility. Below are their key applications and uses:
Industrial Storage:
- Storing large volumes of water for manufacturing processes.
- Serving as a reserve for cooling systems.
- Supporting fire suppression systems.
Agricultural Use:
- Irrigation purposes during dry seasons.
- Storing rainwater for crop hydration.
Commercial Storage:
- Acting as backup water supply during shortages or emergencies.
- Harvesting rainwater for sustainable water management.
- Supporting landscaping needs by storing irrigation water.
Firefighting:
- Ensuring a readily available water supply in areas prone to wildfires.
- Enhancing fire response times by having water readily accessible.
Construction Sites:
- Supplying water for concrete mixing and other construction activities.
- Large scale machinery cleaning and processes.
Supplying the Biggest Projects
With vast experience, we have completed various projects across different industries. No project is too big or complicated for us at Tricel. Every project is different, and we have installed high volume water tanks where space was restricted to a minimum and other structural factors were a concern.
Types of Water Tanks
There are three types of sectional tanks: externally flanged base tanks, internally flanged base tanks and totally internally flanged (TIF) tanks.
• Externally Flanged Base (EFB) – These are manufactured for areas without space restrictions and assembled on raised supports to give easy access to the connections below. The benefits of this high volume water tank include the option to fully drain the tank of water without the need for pumps, and it is also easier to maintain as all connections are accessible from the outside of the tank.
• Internally Flanged Base (IFB) – sectional tanks with an internally flanged base are designed for plant rooms with restricted headroom space and ideally built on a flat plinth or base levelling steels according to foundation requirements. Internally flanged base tanks cannot be fully drained without a pump. The tank is constructed and fastened from the inside, and the base needs to be level and able to support the cold water storage tank without movement. The fixtures are only available from the inside, allowing for extra headroom as access to base panels is not required.
• Totally Internally Flanged (TIF) – A perfect solution for applications requiring maximum water capacity within a plantroom with limited space or access. They are designed specifically for the customer’s site and capacity requirements. TIF tanks have the same benefits as the IFB and EFB tanks, but they are installed from within the tank to make the most of the limited space inside the plantroom.
Large water tanks are versatile and cost-effective, and our GRP material is an environmentally friendly alternative. Whether you need them for residential, commercial or industrial purposes, these tanks offer reliability and peace of mind.
