What's the difference between nominal, actual, and actual useable capacity?
Nominal capacity is the tank’s labelled size. Actual capacity accounts for the tank’s real internal shape. Actual useable capacity is what the tank holds day-to-day once float valve operation and freeboard are taken into account – usually the most realistic figure for planning.
